The filing with the New York Department of Labor indicated that the layoffs will occur at Avon’s Service Model Transformation Project (SMT) at 44 S. Broadway in White Plains.
The company also expects the lay off 12 employees at its offices at 601 Midland Ave. in Rye.
Avon cited economics and a plant closing as the reason for the layoffs.
Avon’s Service Model Transformation Project is a company effort to transform its critical business processes.
In its October 31 third quarter earnings report, Avon noted a 7 percent revenue decrease from the same period in 2012.
Avon is a leading global beauty company, with nearly $11 billion in annual revenue.
