For the third year in a row, Berger Hardware in Hawthorne and Feinsod Hardware in Port Chester will host a bake sale in support of Cookies for Cancer, a 501©3 non-profit organization dedicated to funding the development of less toxic, more effective treatments for children battling cancer. This year’s event will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14.
Customers, friends, family, neighbors and local businesses bake a batch of their favorite cookies and drop them off on Friday. Volunteers at the hardware stores then package them and sell them at the bake sale the next day. All of the profits go directly to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer. The housewares company OXO matches the donations dollar-for-dollar, and Glad donates $1 per cookie baked.
Santa will be at the stores for free pictures with kids, and there will be a silent auction with items donated from local businesses.
If you want to get involved:
1. Bake something – Whip up a batch of your favorite treats and drop them off to either store by 2 pm on Friday, Dec. 13. Staff members will package them for the Bake Sale the next day.
2. Support the bake sale – Come by Berger Hardware or Feinsod Hardware between 10:30 am and 2 pm on Saturday, Dec. 14th and buy some cookies.
3. Make a monetary donation on the donation page – http://cookiesforkidscancer.kintera.org/bergerhardware2013
4. Donate a gift card or service from your business – Donations will be raffled off at the Bake Sale.
