Picture it: Riding a bicycle (or even walking, if you’re than ambitious) from Westchester to Manhattan along the Hudson River.
Well, planners have done more than picture it. They’ve been working on plans to make it a reality, joining the Hudson River Greenway with the Manhattan Waterfront Greenway.
Sen. Charles Schumer, D-NY, will present a report later this morning on how it could be done. Schumer helped secure $1 million in funding for the study in 2005.
The trails could be used for recreation and even for commuting.
