The Westchester County Association’s Blueprint Accelerator Network is launching a networking meet-up for start-up entrepreneurs.
Accelerate Westchester: Meetup. Startup. will be a regular gathering that lets entrepreneurs share tips, discuss their challenges and hear presentations from industry experts.
The initiative is meant to build on the WCA’s mission of promoting business growth.
“Now it’s time for us to serve as an advocate and as a voice for this entrepreneurial community as well and not just big business,” said Marissa Brett, the WCA’s executive director of economic development.
The meet-up will hold its first meeting April 2 at 5:30 in the executive dining room at 1133 Westchester Ave. in White Plains. Admission is $15.
Brett and other WCA officials gathered Friday morning in White Plains to introduce six new early-stage companies that are joining the Blueprint Accelerator Network.
The new partners, announced by the network earlier this month, include Lola Granola Bar, an organic granola bar company; Mobile Health One, a digital healthcare company; Nuvita, an online employee wellness program; the accounting firm Sternbach & Rose, CPA, PC; W@tercooler, a unique co-working space; and the Yonkers Brewing Co., a craft brewery.
The companies will receive different, free services from the network’s business partners. For instance, Mary Molina of Lola Granola said she will receive free legal and marketing services.
Molina said she expects her company, launched in 2011, to grow 173 percent this year. That means she also expects use the network for finding new warehouse and office space.
