Good Counsel Academy Elementary School, which is moving from White Plains to Valhalla next school year, has scheduled a series of site visits for parents of the new school building.
Registration is already open.
The school is moving because the sponsoring congregation, the Sisters of the Divine Compassion, is selling the property in White Plains that holds the elementary and Good Counsel High School. The order announced recently that a new location could not be found for the high school and it will close, angering parents who have organized to save it. The closure of the high school will leave three all-girls Catholic high schools in Westchester.
The elementary, which serves students in Kindergarten through eighth grade, is moving to the former Holy Name of Jesus Elementary School at 2 Broadway in Valhalla, two miles north of the current school building.
The remaining site visits are scheduled for:
Tuesday, Mar. 3, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, April 7, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, May 5, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, June 2, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
